Hi, I am Merrigan Burton. My philosophy is to train you to train your horse. ExperienceI have over 20 years of teaching experience, ranging from beginners to experienced riders in individual or group settings. I have been riding since I was seven years old and now have my own competition horse, a project pony and a number of young horses that come in for schooling. QualificationsI have BHS, Centered Riding® and KNHS (Dutch) qualifications as well as Natural horsemanship certification and Natural hoof trimming (not Strasser).
Merrigan has over 20 years of riding, training and teaching behind her. She works with experienced and novice riders with progressive training tailored to your horse. Many of her clients have found themselves progressing further than they had imagined and those that compete have moved up the line in competition. With a sharp eye for detail and a keen awareness and understanding of how the horse works, Merrigan uses a variety of techniques to bring horse and rider in a harmonious entity without resorting to gadgets. Merrigan uses exercise balls, trampolines, and physio bands to enlighten riders and to develop their position, awareness and aids without getting in the way of the horse. Merrigan attends many seminars, clinics and lectures each year to expand and compound her knowledge and to keep at the leading edge of current trends.
Horses are her passion and will care as much as you do about your horse. It makes no difference if you are a keen competition rider or just want a well-balanced and happy horse.
